My name is Jeff Master, and for as long as I can remember, beef jerky has been part of my life. Long before Master Beef Jerky existed, long before the tents and the markets and the retail stores, I was a kid in the kitchen, slicing meat by hand, experimenting with flavors, and learning by trial and error. I didn’t know it at the time, but those early days were laying the foundation for a journey that would shape the rest of my life.

Where It All Began

Growing up, making beef jerky wasn’t just a hobby—it was something I genuinely loved. I was fascinated by the process, the patience, and the creativity behind it. There was something about taking a simple cut of beef, seasoning it just right, and watching people light up when they tasted it. Even as a kid, I knew jerky had a way of bringing people together.

While other kids were thinking about video games or toys, I was thinking about marinades, spice blends, and how to make my next batch even better. I didn’t realize it back then, but that curiosity was planting the seeds of an entrepreneurial spirit that would eventually turn a childhood passion into a full-fledged business.

A Simple Start That Changed Everything

Fast forward to adulthood. Life, work, and responsibilities came and went, but jerky always had a place in my world. Eventually, I decided to take a chance and bring my hobby to the public.
I rented a tent, grabbed a folding table, and showed up at a local farmers market with a handful of bags—no fancy setup, no grand plan, just belief in the product.

I nearly sold out.

That one day changed everything for me. It wasn’t the money. It was the realization that the jerky I loved making was something other people genuinely wanted. It was validation. Proof. Momentum.

It was the beginning of Master Beef Jerky.

Growing a Real Brand

Like every new entrepreneur, I faced the same challenges everyone faces: production, consistency, compliance, packaging, branding, and trying to do everything at once.
But I also learned something important:

If I wanted to grow, I had to stop making jerky and start building a brand.

That decision was a turning point.
When I partnered with a USDA-approved production facility, everything changed. My jerky became consistent, scalable, compliant, and ready for real growth. Suddenly, I had the freedom to focus on the bigger picture—branding, sales, markets, wholesale, fundraising, events, and partnerships.

The more I sold, the more the brand grew.
The more the brand grew, the more I learned.
And the more I learned, the clearer it became that jerky wasn’t just a product—it was a vehicle. A way to build something meaningful, something profitable, and something that could work for anyone willing to put in the effort.

Why I Built the Beef Jerky Academy

As my brand grew, people began reaching out—entrepreneurs, parents, athletes, market vendors, gym owners, small business owners, and dream-chasers of every kind. Everyone wanted the same thing:

“Jeff, how do I start my own jerky brand?”

I started teaching, coaching, answering questions, and walking people through the process. And the more I taught, the more I realized something:

Most people aren’t missing motivation.
They’re missing a roadmap.

They don’t need theory—they need real steps, real experience, and real support from someone who has done it, lived it, and continues to do it every single day.

That’s why I built the Beef Jerky Academy.
It’s everything I wish I had when I began:

My Mission Today

Today, I still run Master Beef Jerky. I’m still in the markets, in the stores, in the events, building relationships, testing products, expanding sales channels, and growing the brand one bag at a time.
But I’m also doing something bigger:

Helping other people build brands of their own.
